Gentle reminders for Golfers Series
This week – Golf Etiquette
Leave the Course as you found it.
Please treat the sod and sand of the course with the respect it deserves. This means raking bunkers, repairing, or filling divot holes and repairing pitch marks on the green.
Avoid throwing clubs
We have all missed four foot putts for par or sliced our tee shots out of bounds but this is no excuse for throwing a club. Apart from it looking bad it is extremely dangerous and might get you excommunicated from your fourball!!
Keep buggies off greens and tee boxes
Have respect for our course and those who maintain and play it. Park your buggy and walk to the tee. Please do not damage the playing surface for others and obey the signage regarding the use of buggies for that day.
Follow Dress Code
Members are reminded of our Dress Code policy as outlined under the Members menu on our website www.birrgolfclub.ie. Neat and tidy with no sleeveless tops or sports shorts.
Minimise Mobile Phone Use
Continually checking your phone goes against the spirit of being with friends. Even if not causing an audible disruption, it can be distracting and annoying for your playing partners. Please minimise it’s use and if necessary do so discreetly.
