SPRING LEAGUE 2011

The annual Spring League commenced on Saturday 5th with a fine entry of 32 teams. The first three rounds must be completed by 26 Feb. with 4th and 5th rounds to be played between 27 Feb. and 21st March. The competition book must be signed and dated before commencement of each round and the cards marked by team letter and round number.
The top eight teams will qualify for the final which will be played on Sunday 27 March. Congratulations to Francie Horan who succeeded in getting so many members to play in the League.

MEMBERSHIP

Members are advised that subscriptions are now due. We would be obliged if members would submit payment as soon as possible. Subscriptions may be paid by cash or cheque, credit/debit cards or monthly standing orders. In order to qualify for vouchers membership must be paid before 1 march

BEGINNERS’ GOLF

Francie Horan is interested in organising golf lessons for beginners both adult and juniors. Thursday 24 February has been selected as beginners’ night. The cost is a very reasonable 10 euro. Please contact Francie at 057 912 0082 or 087 285 7282. Lessons will be given by Paul McAnny, professional at the Golf Shop.

RESTAURANT

Our restaurant under new management is up and running and providing excellent fare. Do come along and enjoy top quality cuisine in very pleasant surroundings. A wide and varied menu is available and you can be assured of a hearty ceád mile failte from Deborah and her staff.

LADIES’ GOLF

Winter / Spring League. The first leg of the Winter Spring League finished last Saturday with little or nothing separating the top scoring teams. The next three weeks commenced on Sunday 13th and will continue until Saturday 5th March. Please note the change back to the old course i.e. holes 1 – 9. Please familiarise yourself with the rules and regulations of the league prior to playing – see Notice Board for details. The results of the first three weeks are as follows:
1st Place – 148 points – Aileen Watkin’s team
2nd Place – 145 points – Siobhán Tynan’s team
Joint 3rd Place – 141 points – Vera Smyth’s team
Joint 3rd Place – 141 points – Mary Ryan’s team
New 9-Hole Stableford. There is a new nine-hole ongoing competition at the moment and it will run in conjunction with the league holes 1 – 9.

SYMPATHY

The members extend deepest sympathy to P J and Daryl Lowry on the death of Theresa in Mount Bolus last week.
