Golf clubs open for members and visitors

Great news for golfer's as advised by Golf Ireland protocols from Monday 10th May Birr golf club will be open for members and visitors as the intercounty travel restrictions have  been lifted. In accordance with the household mixing outdoors,time-sheets can be set up for two-balls three balls or four balls.Members of the same household should play together, rather than split into mixed groups.Casual-play rounds for handicap purposes for members and visitors with no restrictions on number of households per group are allowed.

Tee times must be booked in advance online via the Club V1 system or over the telephone as the club has to keep a record of all players on the course for at least six weeks in order to assist with contact tracing should the need arise.

Revised fixtures list

Our fixtures list has been revised and will be posted up on the Club system.

Ladies hope to start internal competitions as allowed from Monday 17th May.

All other competition activities are being permitted from 7th June, subject to the public health situation at that stage.

All golf activities should be organised based on "Arrival-play-depart without delay" no groups should be allowed to form up. Toilet facilities are open only. Clubhouse remains closed for all activities this will be reviewed close to the 7th June in line with public health guidance at that time.

Members and Visitors are reminded of the requirement to wear face coverings where required around the club this applies even if a person has been fully vaccinated as per HSE guidance. And  also continue to abide by the protocols such as handwashing, sanitising and social distancing.
