Course Reopening

We are almost there….

Online Payments are now available on our website for existing and new member applications.

We would ask members and new applicants to use this method as much as possible.

Personnel from management will at the course from 9am to noon each day this week to assist.

Notes for course reopening :

Due to the pandemic we reduced our maintenance frequencies and hours on site to limit our possible exposure

  • All fairways, tees, approaches and rough are been maintained at summer height.
  • Bunkers are in play but have had no maintenance for 8 weeks. We will start to weed them this coming week as our seasonal help returns.
  • We will be removing all bins and benches through the next week so please refrain from using them
  • In a further effort to reduce staff exposure we won’t be putting out tee markers for the foreseeable future. Please play from any location on the tee
  • We have installed a simple foam insert in putting cups. Please refrain from removing or touching the flagstick as you remove your ball
  • Please reduce your contact with the golf course staff. Social distancing should be maintained at all times.
  • Both the practice putting green and practice fairway will remain closed for the immediate future. This will be reviewed for phase 2.
  • Please bring your own bottled water to course as needed, rather than using the tap at rear of club house
  • We would also ask you to adhere to Social Distancing Protocols as laid out by Government.
  • And finally……enjoy your game!

Management Update

We have received a protocol for the potential opening of the course from the GUI as in the summarised chart. This will be considered by Management who will communicate with you early next week. Each member is expected to read and abide by these protocols to ensure the safety of all.
The first 2 phases are strictly 3 ball only.
Bookings must be made through the BRS system.
As the timing intervals have changed the timesheets will need to be adjusted. This means that current bookings will be cleared so members will need to re-book when the new timesheets become available.
Please read the full GUI protocal which can be found here: GUI Protocol

Update from Management

After some tough negotiating from the relevant bodies with Government, golf course maintenance is now considered an essential service. Our greenkeeping staff are now working reduced hours to carry out essential maintenance while practicing social distancing measures and following guidelines set out by the HSE and R&A. This means that our course is being well maintained to the high standards that we are accustomed to and in essence will be ready for the return of golfers when the time allows. In this regard we hope you understand that our overheads are continuing but our income has dropped as we have no competition fees, green fees, societies etc. We would like to thank all who are giving their continued support by paying their membership subscription and we ask that any outstanding balances be paid as soon as possible, at your convenience. You can do this by setting up Standing Order/Direct Debit payments, Online Bank Transfer or by Cheque. Please advise Captain Aidan, Lady Captain Laura or a member of the Management Committee if you wish to do this and all help will be given to organise and facilitate this with you. Alternatively you can email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. Please play your part in stopping the spread of Covid-19 and hopefully we will be back playing golf on the fairways very soon.

Course Closed

Following the statement from the ILGU/GUI, please be advised that our clubhouse, locker rooms, course and practice areas are closed with immediate effect from Tuesday evening 24th March 2020. Please play your part in limiting the spread of COVID19 by following HSE guidelines and social distancing measures.
