Captain's Prize

Last weekend saw the first round of Mr Captain Albert's Prize take place in very mixed weather conditions. This didn't hamper the 108 men who took to the fairways, and as the scoring shows, it's all to play for as it's very tight at the top of the leader board.

Scores are as follows after the 1st round

Matt Feenane 68; Sean Ryan 69; Niall Shortt 71; Paschal Troy 71; Seamie Breen 71; Brendan Wynne 71; Martin Young 71; Wìllie Dolan 72; Des Mannion 72; John Murphy 72; Des Browne 72; Michael Horan 73; Brendan O’Carroll 73; John Fleury 73; Mark Reynolds 73; Pat Madden 74; Darragh O’Hare 74; Jerome Molloy 74. A total of 62 players made the cut for Final Round next weekend, please check BRS or timesheet in Men’s Locker room.

Best of luck to all and well done to Captain Albert on a beautiful prize table.

Ladies Notes

Next Sunday 25th August sees lady captain Caroline McCarthy's prize take place. This is GOY stroke competition and let's hope the weather improves and that the sun shines on the ladies taking part. As this is a joint final day for both captains, it will be a busy day in the Glenns. Both presentations take place on Sunday evening followed by music with the excellent Diarmuid Guinan so a great evening is guaranteed.

The draw will take place on Thursday evening following a 9hole competition. All outstanding prizes will be presented on Thursday evening also. A 9 hole will run on Sunday afternoon for those ladies unable to play in the 18hole competition. Best of luck to all taking part.

Best Wishes

Best wishes to Mary Sullivan and a speedy recovery from a nasty fall she had while volunteering on the course last week.
